Why Zinc Is the Most Underrated Oral Health Ingredient
If I had to pick one ingredient that earned its place through research weight, it is zinc.
Zinc ions inhibit VSC production by binding to thiol groups that are precursors to bad-breath gases. A 2003 *Journal of Clinical Dentistry* study found zinc rinses significantly reduced VSC levels versus placebo.
NightSip delivers 5mg zinc gluconate -- below the 8-11mg daily recommended intake, safe for nightly use. Is 5mg enough to replicate clinical rinse studies? The delivery mechanism is different. That is why we are planning a clinical study.
Of our beta testers, most reported fresher mornings within 3-5 nights. Self-reported, not clinically measured. But 52 formulations in, the versions without zinc performed measurably worse.
